PhD Research
In February 2009 I began PhD research into the psychodynamics of emergent social systems. The field is really to discover how different social systems (i.e. groups, organisations, communities, cities etc.) respond to make sense of the collective world seen.
Having done strategy formulation and sustainability development for over 10 years and worked with over 1000 organisations at different stages of their lifecycles over the last 20 years, there are for me distinct differences, potentials and probabilities in different social groups that play out over time.
In the many theories of assessment and change we can construct any model we like. Its test is how useful it is in enabling our sense making of a reality. The question I will be looking at is one of the validity in different methodologies. The aim is a way of disclosing the capacities within a society with a view to assisting in the emergence of the sustainability potential that already exists.
I will keep you posted.
